Sara Clark was presented with the Rosenburg Prize in Environmental Studies for her outstanding leadership activities at the Center for Environmental Studies as well as her scholarship and potential for solving local, national and international environmental problems.
The Tom Hardie Memorial Award for the best student work in environmental studies was presented to two students: Environmental Science major Julie Jung, for her thesis, “The Influence of Land Management Practices on the Abundance and Diversity of Fall-Blooming Asterceae and Their Pollinators,” and to Sam Devine, for his paper, “Environmentalism and Faith: Post-Apocalyptic Religions as Mediators of Paradigm Shift.” Both papers can be found on the CES website at : http://ces.williams.edu/publications/student-papers/tom-hardie-papers/
Environmental Policy major Eirann Cohen won the Scheffey Award in recognition of her outstanding environmental leadership and citizenship, and she is also greatly appreciated for her years as a leader and star Log Lunch cook.
Molly Pickel, Environmental Policy major, was the winner of the Environmental Studies Committee award for her outstanding contributions to the environmental studies community at Williams.
As always, we are sad to say goodbye to our graduates, but we wish them all happy trails and know that they will come back to see us!
