About the Position

Altus Power is currently seeking highly motivated summer interns to work with our Origination, Finance and Deal Structuring team.

Responsibilities:

·         Identifying solar, battery energy storage system (“BESS”) and EV charging investment opportunities
·         Learn about the various US solar and BESS markets, regulatory environment, and other investment incentives.
·         Study the technical aspects of solar, BESS and EV charging assets
·         Understand risk versus return profile of solar and BESS assets as compared to other investment alternatives.
·         Develop understanding of drivers behind project cash flows and how each respective assumption effects investment return
·         Financial modeling of solar, BESS and EV charging investment opportunities
·         Learn about both development and operating acquisition investment opportunities
·         Due diligence/project closing support for senior staff
·         Manage project checklist and conduct due diligence on investment opportunities
·         Gain an understanding of various core documents such as Power Purchase Agreements, Leases, EPC Agreements and Letter of Intents.
·         Learn about SREC/REC markets and the drivers behind the supply/demand dynamics
·         Develop a high-level understanding of tax equity partnerships and assist staff members in tax equity closing process.
·         Conduct utility bill analysis to understand prospective counterparties avoidable charge per kWh that solar and/or BESS can offset
·         Learn about various asset management functions (invoicing, customer relations, financial reporting, cash distribution waterfall, etc.)
·         Assist with production monitoring to ensure solar assets are performing in-line with baseline projections.
·         Support the investment team by putting together marketing materials and presentations
·         Respond to RFPs

 

·         Interact with the engineering team to learn about equipment procurement and pricing

·         Engage in interconnection studies and getting projects through utility interconnections queues
·         Complete long-term research projects as necessary
·         Improve communication skills – in-person, telephone, and email
·         Support senior staff members with all tasks
