Join us at our unique Farm Camps in the heart of the Hudson Valley in Harlemville, NY! Come live, learn, and guide children through hands-on activities in our gardens, barns, kitchen and ponds; all located on a 500+acre Biodynamic Farm! Hawthorne Valley Farm’s Place Based Learning Center has many opportunities in our Residential and Day Camps for candidates who have a love for the outdoors and working with children in a no-tech environment. Hawthorne Valley Farm was envisioned as a place where children could experience a working farm and, through active participation, learn practical skills, develop social relationships, and gain a deeper sense of self and relationship to nature. Our camps offer children the opportunity to spend their summers in a no-tech, nature-based, Waldorf-inspired learning environment on our 500+-acre working Biodynamic farm. Our kitchen features organic, home-cooked vegetarian meals sourced from our farm, gardens, bakery, kraut cellar and creamery as well as other Hudson Valley growers. If you have an interest in outdoor farm-based children’s education and farm-to-table programs, we encourage you to join us! We are currently seeking applicants for the following positions: Counselors for our House Camp for children ages 8 to 12 and for our Field Camp for campers ages 12 to 16, Day Camp Counselors for children ages 8 to 13, Kitchen Cooks and a Camp Nurse. Males are encouraged to apply. Summer Camp positions begin June 18 and ends August 12, 2017.
