The Town of Charlotte Energy Committee (CEC) is comprised of volunteers who advise and guide
the community and the Select Board on resiliency in the use and production of energy. Exciting
work is happening at the local, town level in Vermont to implement progressive, statewide
environmental policies. It is a period of growth and potential influx of funding that could quickly
advance necessary projects.
The CEC seeks a Grant Writer to assist in researching non-profit, State, and Federal grant
opportunities related to weatherization, renewable energy, electric vehicle charging
infrastructure, public transit, park and rides, walkable/bikeable infrastructure, carbon
sequestration in agricultural and forest lands, and other climate-related activities, and to
prepare draft applications, which may require research and coordination with Town officials.
The position could be conducted virtually and has flexible hours, but a weekly virtual check in
will be expected. The ideal candidate is able to work independently and collaboratively, is detail
oriented, is a strong writer, and is excited to learn about Vermont energy issues. In addition to
playing a crucial role in advancing Vermont’s resiliency, this is a great opportunity to understand
funding mechanisms and gain experience in grant writing and municipal governance.
