Description: Intern will work to reverse-engineer the software in one or more diesel
vehicle electronic performance “tuners” to determine the extent to which emission control
parameters are being modified. Similar to the Volkswagen scandal, many domestic
companies are marketing devices that advertise power increases and greater fuel
efficiency. These devices likely revise fuel injection, timing, boost and other settings that
cause significant increases in emissions in volation of the Clean Air Act.

Qualifications: Computer technology and software background essential.
Duration: 4-12 weeks.
Compensation: Furnished apartment provided, no charge. Weekly stipend possible.
