Andy Levin, a member of the Williams class of 1983, is a progressive Democrat running for Congress in Michigan’s 9th district. Andy has been committed to promoting economic justice and environmental sustainability throughout his life. During the Great Recession he created and ran No Worker Left Behind, the largest worker retraining program in the United States, as the Chief Workforce Officer of Michigan. Since 2011 Andy has created a statewide market to finance clean energy building improvements called Lean & Green Michigan through his company, Levin Energy Partners. For more information on Andy and his campaign, see: https://www.andylevinforcongress.com/
Andy’s campaign is looking for smart, self-directed, motivated students who can help with research, develop policy proposals, do outreach to environmental groups, and help with voter mobilization. Which of these activities an intern would focus on would depend on student’s strengths, personality, and interests and would be determined in consultation with the student. Being from MI would be a plus, especially if the student wanted to focus on voter mobilization or outreach to environmental groups, but it’s not a requirement.
