Hi Sarah –
I’m following up on your notice of internship possibilities – thanks for the note! I’ve a Williams grad (’86) and have worked as an ecologist for the Maine Natural Areas Program for the last 20 years. We have a number of interesting field-based ecology projects planned for this upcoming summer, and we are offering paid internships ($13/hour). Please see http://www.maine.gov/dacf/mnap/about/jobs.htm.
All work-related transportation is provided, but students need to find housing in or near Augusta and transportation to and from our Augusta office. (On occasion interns can find local housing together). Our interns typically work from the end of May through August (~12 weeks), but we could likely entertain a shorter duration position (7-10 weeks), particularly if we could arrange some type of cost-share with Williams. Let me know if you think some type of joint funding might be a possibility. Any interested applicants should contact me or Kristen Puryear (listed on the job description).
Thanks!
– Andy
