MassEnergize Internship — Community Engagement Position
About MassEnergize We believe that it is critical that we engage our communities to be vocal and visible about responding to the climate emergency with individual, household, and systems level change. For that reason MassEnergize, a non-profit corporation, was formed in 2016 by community organizers with deep experience in several towns and cities, with a mission to provide communities with the tools and resources to motivate and support their residents, businesses and non-profits in a wide array of actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for a changing climate.
Our current areas of focus include:
● Providing a web platform to help communities create a customized portal to engage residents and local businesses. See our pilot community site at www.energizewayland.org. The tool has a powerful back end to allow community organizers and MassEnergize to assess our impact and evaluate outreach strategies across communities.
● Curating and sharing community engagement playbooks and tools.
● Convening a community of practice, of climate organizers in over 15 communities.
● Scaling up our operations to provide our tools to a wider group of communities.
