Job Title: Rockies Rock Camp Intern

About Rockies Rock:
Rockies Rock is a 5-week environmental education day camp where students spend their time at different local organizations to learn about an environmental topic (insects, habitats, watershed, or mining) they investigate all summer.
Purpose for position:
We are looking for 4 summer interns to lead an environmental education integrated enrichment summer program for students in current grades 3-6. Each intern will work with a teacher and help a group of 20 students.
Most activities and learning will take place in outdoor classrooms in Leadville or surrounding counties. Be prepared to be outside with students dressed appropriately for all weather conditions. Interns will facilitate small group activities and help teachers coordinate all activities.
Schedule:
6 weeks of program begins June 28th and ends July 28th (no program on July 4)
Mondays through Thursdays 8:30-3:00
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist teachers in all activities
• Run small group activities
• Supervise students on field trips
• Help teachers as requested and needed
Qualifications:
• Experience working with groups of youth
• Ability to lead small groups independently
• Positive relationships with youth
• Positive team player
• Enthusiasm!
• Desire to learn!
• Pass Colorado State Background Check
