We are seeking summer interns to help with hydrologic and water quality monitoring in the High Park Fire burn area west of Fort Collins, Colorado. Tasks may include erosion monitoring, ground cover surveys, stream discharge measurements, water sample collection, lab analysis of water samples, data entry, and data analysis. The position can also include participation in existing research projects related to post-fire runoff, erosion, and water quality, and/or development of a related independent research project.
Required qualifications: Driver’s license, ability to shovel sediment and lift heavy field equipment, and ability to navigate through remote rugged terrain.
Desired qualifications: Experience with watershed measurements and maintenance of field instruments, strong organization and communication skills, ability to drive manual transmission vehicle, proficiency with Excel, and interest in conducting independent research.
