Greetings! My name is Alex, and I’m the Office Coordinator here at the Vermont Natural Resources Council (VNRC). We just began our search for this year’s Mollie Beattie intern, and I am trying to figure out the best way to reach qualified and interested Williams College students and alumni.
The Mollie Beattie Internship is a paid internship (up to $5,020 for approximately 8-10 weeks of work) for graduate-level students or recent graduates who intend to pursue a career in environmental science or natural resources policy or law. We’re hoping to secure a commitment by mid-March, but the internship itself will run sometime between June and August. VNRC offers two paid internships every year – the Legislative Internship (which runs January through May) and the Mollie Beattie Internship (usually 8-10 weeks in the summer/fall) – but we also take on legal interns and program interns on an as-needed basis. We would like to do a better job with our outreach efforts; while we always advertise our listings on Handshake, the response is usually not great. I’m hoping to find a more direct route to the students that might most be interested, hence this email. Any and all assistance spreading the word is greatly appreciated.
