Interested in working with kids in nature? Community engagement? Want a chance to work outside in Williamstown this summer?
Williamstown Rural Lands at Sheep Hill is offering an internship to get hands-on experience with nature and science education and public outreach.
You will definitely serve as one of several counselors for our kids Nature Explorers programs:
- Counselor for 3 to 4 week-long outdoor children’s nature and science programs (age 5 – 12) (definitely)
Other projects could include the following:
- Interpretive center and nature center redesign with a focus on becoming more friendly to non-traditional outdoors audiences
- Multimedia publicity, including creating event flyers, digital photography and videos, and contributing to WRL’s social media presence
- Community outreach and interpretation, such as guided interpretive walks, community science and family activities
This internship is based at the Williamstown Rural Lands offices at Sheep Hill (671 Cold Spring Rd., Williamstown), 1.5 miles from campus. Check us out at www.rurallands.org. 30 – 40 hours a week, some weeks will have more work hours than others.
