Intern: Researcher, with the Williamstown Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PARAC)

Background/Description:
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee has been appointed by the Williamstown Select Board to submit a series of recommended enhancements to the town’s current recreational offerings by December of 2019. The PARAC intern would assist in this work, including research and identification of exemplary, comparable town models for provision of parks and recreation services and infrastructure, both in the US and internationally, that would potentially enhance the quality of life and address the diverse needs of the Williamstown community.
Duties to potentially include discovery, interviewing, data synthesis, and submission of findings to PARAC for their consideration. Assistance with planning and implementation of meetings with community constituents. Attend relevant PARAC meetings.
Skills/Attributes Sought:
Interest in urban planning, environmental sustainability, and community development work. Able to interpret needs and devise a creative plan to address them. Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative. Strong research and writing skills.
