Many Forks Farm is a small, diverse, and hand-scale vegetable farm in Northern Berkshire County. The centerpiece of the farm operation is a Community Supported Agriculture farm share program. Additional farm enterprises include a farm kitchen producing baked goods and jams with the farm’s produce, a spring seedling sale, a weekly farm stand, and a fall storage vegetable sale. The farm uses regenerative agriculture approaches and organic practices with the goal of sustaining and improving the health of the soil, the farm ecosystem and community members. With a vision of access to healthy food as a basic human right, the farm participates in a number of community collaborations to make its produce available, accessible and affordable to all. The internship at Many Forks Farm will be divided into two areas: 1) Field work learning about and performing a diverse range of techniques seeding, transplanting, weeding, mulching, irrigating, increasing soil health, and harvesting, and 2) Farm operations and administration including staffing CSA distribution and the weekly farm stand as well as taking on additional responsibilities and projects as per the intern’s specific interests in such areas as educational programming for children and families, marketing and outreach, farm recordkeeping systems, food security and access, more. On-site housing may be available. Additionally, Many Forks participates in a regional farm network of CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training), and an intern will have access to the network’s farm visits and workshops to further increase their knowledge of small-scale agriculture approaches and operations. Please see our website to learn more about the farm: https://manyforksfarm.com. Other requirements: your own transportation, no pets, no smoking of any kind on farm property.
Please contact Sharon Wyrrick, Farmer/owner by email: [email protected] with a letter of interest. An on-site interview will be required as a part of the application process.
