Research Assistant – Envi Analysis Lab
2 positions, 10 weeks, beginning in June
Stipend: $4,400 includes housing – requires purchase of board plan
Responsibilities: Students will do research involving both the Environmental Analysis lab on campus and the weather stations and stream gaging equipment in Hopkins Memorial Forest. They will train on and master the analytical chemistry techniques needed to provide data for the long-term environmental research hydro-chemical databases the lab is responsible for. In addition to the regular field and lab research duties, they will spend about half of the summer working on a to be determined, independent research project and produce a poster a poster illustrating the results.
Qualifications: Laboratory skills are preferred and previous field experience a plus. Experience with Excel and other spreadsheet and graphics software would be valuable. Preference will be given to Williams College students who are self-motivated, reliable, and work well independently with minimal supervision.
