The Mastheads

The Mastheads is an urbanism, architecture, and literary arts project in Pittsfield, MA founded by Williams ’07 alum and architect Tessa Kelly. The Mastheads is seeking one to two summer interns for the months of June and July. Interns will be working closely with the Mastheads team, which includes architects Tessa Kelly and Chris Parkinson of the firm ARCADE, Professor of English Jeffrey Lawrence, and poet Sarah Trudgeon.
Interns should plan to be in Pittsfield at least once a week in June, and nearly every day in July, when The Mastheads residency is underway. Responsibilities will include coordination of weekly Tuesdaynight lectures and community conversations at the Berkshire Athenaeum, support for the five writers in residence who will be in Pittsfield for the month of July, and assistance with The Mastheads publishing initiative in the Berkshire Eagle.
The Mastheads at its core is an interdisciplinary initiative, so students with a range of backgrounds and interests are encouraged to apply – from urban planning, design, community development, creative writing, and art.
Please contact Tessa Kelly at [email protected] by March 15 with a resume and brief statement of interest. We will conduct brief interviews TBC in the weeks following the deadline.
